Description

Plus some of the alleys and driveways. A pleasing variety of deterioration, so homey. These beauties captured between February and October of 2006, sorry to say within walking distance of my hackneyed haunt. In comparison, most of the homes in front look in pretty good shape and well kept. Better detail via ZOOM. I have several more examples of this particular eyesore subject matter in my files, which I will be posting every so often. Auf wiedersehen, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

It's good values these people do not take the time to ameliore the value of their homes. Hiiiiii One day we'll have to fix everything and it will be much more expensive. but hey ....(( 5 + +)) C'est bien de valeurs que ces gens ne prennent pas le temps d'améliorere la valeur de leur demeure . Hiiiiiii Un jour il va falloir tout réparer et ce sera beaucoup plus cher comme . mais bon....((5++))

I do like that color scheme on the first one. Nice idea, what a shame they are so dilapidated.

Great collage of these fading doors; they do look pretty shabby, don't they? The top one looks like it may have had graffiti on it at some point. I have an idea, sell these shots with the addresses to a garage door replacement company!

a real delight, Harry, and it struck me just now that if you lived where I live, you could never get these shots. So many of your captures would be cramped into tiny alleyways in my neighborhood, and behind fences and out-of-the-way alcoves. Whereas, in L.A.---at least in the part you live in---you have the space to explore & find these sights. They may be eyesores to people passing by, but for us, they're delightful captures, and real. And, montage-wise, after 4 different doors & hues & designs (nicely chosen), you end with one with a sign in between, where all the decay's on the bottom...a kind of bottom-punctuation mark for the whole montage. Once again, you find photographs right where you live, and in things many people pass by. In decline, yes, but delightful.

I like that middle one, ripe for a whole set of paintings by me, if I lived there.

Great photos and collage Harry. Denise had a great idea! Some look like you could kick a hole in many of them especially the right side of #2. Dana
