Description

Using the wide aperture, my goal was to produce a narrow depth of field, thus highlighting the interesting rocks and ripples (to me!!) in the foreground. I have always loved the colour and texture of clinker bricks when they are wet. The original photo of this is HUGE, and is best viewed zoooomed to experience the full effect. As always, thanks for visiting my gallery.

Arrr. Not far from my place I think. I'm guessing just this side of the pier. The colors are really vibrant.

Nicely done. I might also try getting down lower and really close to one group of the rocks and have a larger foreground grouping then fading away to a more blurred background. Great subject to play around with.

This is so cool Andrew! I love the aperture with the pebbles in sharp focus! I call those "beach treasures".

I like your approach on this shot. The wide aperture blurs distracting background and focus on the detail on the beach nearby.

Interesting how you've focused on the foreground in preference to the background, works pretty well in this shot! Nice one!!

I like the ripples too. The smooth sand doesn't do anything for me. Dana

A fabulous shot, great work. I was talking about you today at a photgraphy workshop, I was saying how I admired your style of photography! Blinkings is therefore known in Jersey, Channel Islands as a superb photographer who is not limited to one style only!
