Description

I recently visited a re-creation of a 1646 Blacksmith shop, at the Saugus Iron Works, Saugus, Massachusetts. It is run by the National Park Service. I watched the blacksmith making nails and a hasp just like this one. The nails were the old fashion square head nails and there are a few in this photo. I also like the textures, in the wood, used to build this storage shed. The iron works was modeled after a similar iron works in Wales, England. Zoom works to get a closer look of the textures. Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Thankyou, Dana! The hasp is an artwork in itself, such a contrast with the shiny new padlock. We have a local blacksmith who still makes such things.

Stellar lighting effects bring out the cool textures in this pic of the wood and the modern lock engaged with the antique-looking hasp, Dana.

This hasp looks to be a lot older than the padlock and has probably been used for years and had lots of repairs. An excellent shot.
