Yesterday was Sunday Streets for Chinatown to Northbeach. Looking down Grant street to Columbus.
What is Sunday Streets?
Sunday Streets is a series of events put on by the City of San Francisco to encourage health, community and fun, inspired by similar events in cities throughout the world. A Sunday Streets event creates a large, temporary, public space by closing off stretches of a neighborhood’s streets to automobile traffic, and opening them to pedestrians, bicyclists, and activities for several hours on a predetermined Sunday.

Terrific idea which should be practised in many other places. Is the guy in the blue shirt snapping your picture?

I wish Chicago's Chinatown was this lively; it is but it's so much smaller! Only a couple of city blocks and only one main street full of tourists snapping pictures of themselves in front of distinctive, Chinatown features. I love the sense of life in this shot, the sheer number of people, and yeah--I spotted the guy snapping a photo that undoubtedly has you in it! What a treat! This is really stunning. I have to get out that way as soon as I can: the Midwest is nice, but I've been here too long!

Very colorful, what one would expect from a Chinatown picture!
