Description
Funny story behind this shot. Fireworks can be a real pain to shoot well. Set up the camera on the tripod, set with a little delay, like 3 sec. point it at a black sky and hope one will explode in front of you. It did.
Entered it in a photographic competition and it was rejected as they believed it was a computer graphic image. Did know whether to take that as a compliment or be insulted :)

There's a type of fireworks-squiggle that would tell anyone who knows jack squat about anything that this is a real photograph: Just look for the squiggles; computer generated stuff is usually too smooth, because...well, lets face it...computers can do a lot of things, but they're not good at capturing squiggles in fireworks streamers. Now as for this shot! I'm so frikkin' jealous! This is my favorite sort of firework display and I've tried, tried, and failed numerous times to capture this particular sort of pattern...I love the oblique angle, the colors are superb, and the little clouds of smoke are just perfect. In short, I like this shot quite a lot, and I look forward to trying (yet again) to capture something like this. I have a few fireworks shots, but none This crisp and sharp. This is excellent.
