Description
PLEASE READ FIRST:
All these images are from my gallery.
I did these "Before and After" images for a friend who asked about how I did hair, and thought I'd share them for anyone else who might find it useful. I've learned this from trial and error, so maybe this will help you not to make the same mistakes. Don't let the "horse" in the Mane and Tail Packs scare you. It can be very human, indeed. You will need to enlarge to see directions...sorry.
*****HINT 1: Start with Poser hair that hugs the head and has a nice hairline. Otherwise, you may end up having hair where you don't want it, and it interferes with the blending. It also keeps the hair from looking like it's sprouting in every direction.
*****HINT 2: Plan your render so that you can add hair later...leave room and space for the added hair.
*****HINT 3: Keep the hair consistent. Don't use a curly hair piece with straight. It just doesn't look natural. Also, adjust the color and darkness to blend everything in. I sometimes clone small sections of each hair into the other to unify the look.
*****HINT 4: Just try different strands until you have the look you want, and don't be afraid to experiment. I even turned one upside down and it looked funky and right for the image I was doing.
Most of all....have fun with it. ART should be enjoyable. It's so much easier than drawing strands by hand, as I did for about eight years (when Poser hair looked like PlayDough.)
Sorry, I don't have a website now, and this was the best I could do. Hope this helps someone. :O)
