Description

And the dock area where I spent alot of my misguided youth gambling with sailors. The french were the easiest to beat I don't know why, maybe they were just being kind. The gambling was shooting shots of vodka, and we knew the tricks. ;)

Yes you are correct in this observation. This was one of several I've posted that were rejected. I posted it for sentimental reasons because the docks are in view where I made quite a bit of money in my youth. :))))

Absolutely stunning; I adore night photography, especially urban-night photography and this is as good as it comes. There's something about cities that is inherently right in the darkness of night. It's the lights, the shapes, and when there is water, the reflections. Everything is clarified and it thrusts itself toward sublime perfection in a way that is simply impossible during the day. I like to think of myself as a night creature of sorts, simply because the night allows so many revelations like this image. It's a feast of colors, shapes, and implications and that's what I love about night shots like these. This is simply marvelous.
