Description

At first I thought the stone veneer had just fallen away, but they are stairs. This location is almost at the top of a pyramid and the only way to reach the very top is to take these narrow sideways stairs at Calakmul.

I get the sense of history just oozing out of this place and I love the details in this shot as well. The POV is great and I rather like the way in which you've captured the foot-tread patterns worn into those steps. This is a nicely evocative shot.
