Description

This is a recreational area that happens to be located over an "extinct" volcano in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. A few years ago, CO2 gas seeped up through the soil and took out the trees. You can still drive there, but they don't encourage sleeping on the ground... A grade C movie called "Dantes Peak" was inspired by this locale.

What kind of lenz are you using? Now i feel like a dumbass for explaining what this place was in your other photo. Yeah you're right in suggesting it isnt extinct. it blew in 1918 last and started to awake in the 1990s but baffled scientist when it didnt blow. It will wake again soon and when it does it will cover San Francisco or Reno with ash like it did last time. Haha I dont usually remark this long sorry guys.
