Description

In 1941, Swiss engineer, Georges de Mestral, came back from a hunting trip, in the Swiss Alps, with his dog. He found that his clothes and his dogs fur were covered with burrs, the seedpods of the burdock (any of a group in the genus Arctium). His study of the hooks on these burrs led him to the invention of Velcro. Info from Wikipedia. Recent photo. Please zoom!
