Description

Taken in an east end London neighborhood that looks a touch seedy but is actually becoming a bit posh as well-to-do Londoners move eastwards. Much to the aggravation of the locals I am told. I loved the way the light played on the arches. It was a cool gray day and rain was threatening - perfect photo weather. For Lou because I know it is somewhere near her stomping grounds. Taken with a Nikon Coolpix S9100 I'll keep up with this series until at least I finally get poserpro2012 working right - it may be a well. Previous London

I imagine a great many stories could be made from this one perfect image. Forget a thousand words! Marvelous capture. It reminds me of River street in Savannah stateside.

what a great shot and post treatment. I love it when a photographer shows us not only the place they visit but captures the mood and feel of it as well--you did this here...it is great art to say the least--love it.

Amazing! Superb! Exhilarating! Those are just three of the words that popped into my mind when I saw this. I also suspect that it's a part of the inspiration for the city-state of New Crobuzon, as featured in the novel Perdido Street Station by China MiƩville. He's one of my favorite, new-ish writers, and this image feels the way his novels tend to feel. There's a touch of seediness that I hope remains, and the play of light, shadow, and architecture is truly glorious. This is a marvel of photographic work. I like it immensely.

Roxy, this just kicks butt! Wow! I really love the lighting playing on those arches - if not for the absense of distinct shadows, I would have thought it was a sunny day. This is superb, my friend! Wow - hope you get PP2012 working - you will love it. Unlike P8, it worked flawlessly from the start for me.
