Description

I love this old place. No people, no houses, no graffiti, no rubbish, no noises, and no public cars..........EVER! We had the entire place to ourselves as we explored the labyrinth of tunnels and old gunnery buildings. Even from this POV you can see an opening towards the top of the hill, and more old bunkers and buildings down to the right. They are all pre-WW1, and the area has been a secure military installation since the 1800's. Please zoom for a better look. Victoria Australia. The lighthouse in the distance on the left instantly reminded me of the fictional 'Moesko Island Lighthouse' from 'The Ring'! That lighthouse was actually the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport Oregon.

Hmmmmmmmmm. My eyes being what they are, when I first read your title, I thought it read, "The Road to the Old Fart." And I was thinking "Yes, that's the next big highway interchange of my life. There it is, right over the hill." And then, of course, I read the title correctly and thought, "oh, that's quite a bit different." I like this a lot. As much as I like cars, I don't want them everywhere I go, and this looks blessedly free of them. All quite lovely. I could see where it would make for a great day.
