Description

Taken at the Samoa dunes recreation area about early May of this year. The dunes support many small marshes like this one attracting all kinds of water fowl. The Egrets especially like this one in particular. The far Egret has just touched down to join the feast. I had the pleasure of seeing an egret almost up close and personal s a girl. The thing must have been lost but it was settled in a marshy area near my neighborhood. I stood there blinking in disbelief--they are very lovely things...Thanks for prodding my nostalgia with this lovely picture.

If this is Samoa Island off Eureka, I visited it last September. Brown, gray and overcast. I think spring is a better time to visit as shown by your excellent image. Oh goody, a reason to go back!
