Description


The Lockheed F-117 'Nighthawk' was a single-seat, twin-engine stealth ground-attack aircraft operated by the U. S. Air Force. It was a product of the Lockheed 'Skunk Works'. It was retired in 2008. The F-117 is shaped to deflect radar signals and has a radar signature of about 0.025 square meter (0.269 square feet). To reduce the heat signature the exhaust of the twin engines is deflected upward across the entire trailing edge of the fuselage. Great shot.. I did see one or two of these at various airshows in the UK.. Got a couple of photos somewhere.. lol Amazing to think they are retired already! But worth noting, they never sold them on... Thanks for posting Sig.. Must look up my old ones of these lol Rob
