------------- Tales of the Raptors – Form Fitting

Rose had easily proven herself in their first adventure, though she still shuddered at the thought of what she’d just gotten into. She’d fought goblins, Gnolls, ogres and even a giant once. But these Drow and their damned spiders, their demons and their magic were sometimes just too much. And the idea that this band had already been into the Abyss and helped take out a demon princess, or Queen depending on who you talked to, left her even more rattled. But Roselyn seemed to possess something few of them did, a serious skill at simply bashing in heads, without depending on magic or psionics. Of course, fifty pounds of star metal alloy in the head of her hammer, and the strength to wield it, didn’t hurt.

So when they got back to Syvasgaard after their trip east to Maeceyea, she turned down most of the magics and simply stashed away the money in a new guild account. What she really wanted from the Raptors for her cut was a new set of armor,… nothing super powerful, nothing that glowed with magic, and nothing that would suddenly become unwieldy and overly encumbering like Jay’s auritite plated Drow adamant armor when an anti-magic field struck her. Her old light plate mail was fine and she was, after all, quite good at overcoming the restrictive nature of such armors. After all, she was trained by Dwarves,… some that she’d swear had never taken off their armor in their adult lives. Well, that’s what they smelled like at any rate.

So, when the girls got together and conspired to get Rose something special in Nice Little Place, she was sure it would come out looking like something Miri or Kami would wear. She was decidedly surprised when they presented her with a set of silvered Elven plate mail, and got her permanent Form Fitting and Swift Armor spells placed on it. She kept her old pauldrons and had them fitted to the armor as well as styled to match. With the whole outfit on, she felt like she was barely wearing anything. Miri pulled out the Armband and demonstrated. Even in an anti-magic field, the armor barely gained any weight.

Maybe she fit in here after all.
