Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

Great shot. That would have to be the mother of all paint strippers. An amazing machine. Isn't it ironic how after a long and sometimes tragic detour with the Shuttle Program we find NASA coming back to Moonshot 2.0... There is nothing like a whopping big rocket to get you places!

Now that is an impressive shot...it is so big too! Another stat about the Saturn V is the sound intensity. Apparently the decibel level is so great the sound alone would kill you if you were nearby and could withstand the heat. This was a singularly great achievement of the space program, and think that those huge nozzles had to be directionally controlled as well...just amazing!

Superb shot Dana and great to be able to get up close to this giant of a space vehicle.

Fabulous capture of this magnificent behemoth, Dana. Incredible power on display. I remember working on the nose end of the Saturn rocket way back when. And, ironic that we have regressed back so far in the manned space program.
psyoshida
What a spectacular shot!! With those statistics I'm amazed it could get off the ground. Incredible amount of brains went into that project. Great info. Totally fascinating. Thanks.
