Description

Taken on my recent trip to Nevada. This is Valley of Fire national park. It's a beautiful place. Saw a Big Horn Sheep while I was there. Got a couple nice shots of it. May post one in the next few days. Some Tone Mapping on this one and other PP. I loved the small trail winding up this small ridge. Thanks for looking. What an image! I love the intensity of the colors and the otherworldly look that is so common in that part of the world...the sky adds such a nice, differing bit of drama from the nicely ferrous-colored rocks below. The landscape seems both jagged and serene, which I like immensely and the color tones in this really play that up, in my opinion, at least! I think what draws me the most into this photo is the intensity of the color; it's got that nice "Martian Red" thing going, but it's not so otherworldy as to be distracting. I think that with the colors being what they are, you're pulled into a closer exploration of the image, which then reveals many of the details that you'd probably normally miss; well, in speaking for myself, I find this whole image to be quite intriguing and that adds to its beauty.
