Description

This is a repost of an early posting from about 3 years ago. The original photo, about 15 years old, has been deleted because it had to be cropped so much, to meet RRs requirements. I have better tools now so you can see the whole photo and full details. This was a release of a batch of incubated baby sea turtles. About 200 and about 4 inches (10cm) long. They were making a break for it before the sea birds spotted them. They had to be released, on the same beach, where the eggs were harvested because they must return to the same beach 20 to 25 years in the future, to lay their own eggs. Isn't nature amazing? Do zoom! Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

This really is superb. I love that clear water-capture, and the turtles are lovely.

Marvelous shot! Beautiful detail and light! I'm glad you reposted it. I read an article about the release program of Sea Turtles in Florida and about the dangers they face from confusing lights and disruption to their nests. Nature is amazing and I am glad that there are humans who try to mitigate the disruption our presence causes to other animals. They are beautiful and this is a wonderful capture!
