"Get Well Chloe!!!"
Before I had a Chihuahua, I thought they were not "real dogs"......(just sissy dogs, "toys" even). I'd always had retrievers, German Shepherds, etc. But Rudy was a "throw-away" dog, whom I adopted when he was six weeks old, because he was just so darn cute. I've never regretted it, because he's funny, brave, protective, and a great companion, since I live alone. I couldn't even bring myself to put "animal" as his photography category..LOL He's much more than that to me.....He's getting old now, and I have to help him with steps sometimes, but he's still the young pup in this photo, (at heart). Here's to all the canine heroes who make our lives so much richer.

I love you for your words and this picture. My dogs over the last 9 years have been little folks with very big hearts and pwesonalities to match. I cannot say I "own" any of them. Each is a little, non-human person. Each has brouught so much joy and love into my life. Molly was Poodle and Jack Russell, Honey was Chachuchu and terrier, and now Sally is Honey's daughter. God bless them all.

What an adorable little boy. I couldn't agree with you more - dogs are SO much more than animals. They are real friends that love us unconditionally. I hope he will still bring you joy for a long time to come - despite his age.

I have two small dogs (mix breeds of Pocket Beagle & Maltese -daddy-,Pomeranian and Chihuahua - mommy-)and I said the same thing as you since I've always had big dogs. These two are absolutely just plain fun! I lost my best friend ever this past summer though, a Chow Chow Mix. He was topping 87 pounds when he passed on. I know in my heart he will never be replaced. My latest addition is a full blooded chocolate lab. Shes been quite interesting so far but is learning fast! She keeps me busy and smiling....though I am having trouble getting my small dogs to like her...one of the small dogs thinks he could protect me from my Chow Chow even as small as they are...was kinda funny but still I hope these three learn to get along...It is so darn hard when we see them getting older and less agile. Give Rudy a hug for me. Hes very handsome!

Awwww what a handsome dog he is too, I love dogs, cats all animals really and they mostly feature in my art. I have 2 little toy dogs too and they are my very dearest companions because I too live alone. Well I lie really because apart from my 2 beloved dogs I have 3 cats too, all of whom get on really well, and bring a smile to my face every day. Happy to have found yours and Rudy's gallery today. hugs to you both Jane xx

Yeah, I never thought I'd own a Chihuahua either.. Then the wife brought one home from the pet store that wasn't doing well. Darn little thing stole my heart. Bandit only lived about 6 months longer before being taken by Parvo. But we've had Chihuahua's ever since.. Excellent Portrait!!!

Thank you Rudy for wishing my little Chloe well :D and thank you Linda for letting all of us get to know your little fella...he is really a beautiful guy, or should i say a handsome guy :) can't believe that he was a "throw away"--god, that sounds terrible! you now have to introduce us to your other little baby. Chloe is sort of on a plateau...really hard for me to get her meds into her on the correct schedule...i even cut my workday by 2 hours so I can be with her more but that still means i am away from home nearly 10 hours...i think i have to start doing the lotto thing :D
