Description
This is still a work in progress, but its coming along nicely I think. I do seem to have a issue though, render time. This image took 21 minutes 46 seconds to render inside of Cinema 4D.
Its using IES lights, and a few Shaders, and a couple reflective serfaces (not seen). 16 Total textures in the scene thus far, probably be a few more once the inside of the elevator is complete.
Once its done being modeled it will be a complete elevator with its working parts (breaks, guide wheels, pullies, cables, etc.) The shaft is currently 15 stories tall, can't really see it here but here's a earlier render that can be looked at:

rendering antialias is set to best, 1x1 max 1x4, no gobal illumination or multi-pass. So render time is abit confusing... seems to get really slow when it hits the polished steel, but even some of the basic materials are taking a long time.
Its been awhile sense I built a renderbox, so if anyone has any suggested specs, please let me know. I'm using Cinema 4D R12 Studio (doh! and R13 came out right after i got R12!!(

Check if you have no hypernurbs stacked into another hypernurb, or copied a model twice by mistake at the exact same location into an hypernurb. Other then that, polished steel. Is that with blur on in the reflection channel? That EATS render time.

actually there aren't any hypernurbs in it at all, its all done with simple poly serfaces and splines. here's something odd though... I added a few things to the scene (small pieces) that aren't even visible in this shot and the render time cut in 1/2 for the same camera angle :S wierdness eh?
