Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

Great camouflage and I wish my grass was that short.

Great that they are flourishing. The same pett-dumping happens here and they suffer and then perish unless they are found quickly. An exciting thing to find on the lawn..beats my 6 inch slugs!

Beautiful creature, but I am glad I don't have them in my garden! Hugs for all day, Dear Dana. Di. xx

Great capture. I've always been fond of Iguanas, especially since they do tend to look a wee bit prehistoric and nicely predatory, even though they aren't. Unless you're a tasty cricket or something. I can't tell if this is a male or a female, but keep an eye on those big, round scale patches on either side of the lower jaw: they're easy male-markers when it's time for seasonal displays of whatever needs to be displayed in terms of mating advertisements. I really like the sharp, reptilian details and the softer, grassy background...the focus is right where is should be, on that really intriguing reptile face...I love the apparent still ness of this critter, though I also know how fast these critters can run. This is a super shot and it's nice to know that dumped pets actually survive, become wild and do rather well in Florida. Well...some of them.
