Description

Captured 1/5/10, early in the morning, within walking distance of my anachronistic abode. ZOOM worthy. This style is more utilitarian than most bus benches in that passengers may sit back to back while waiting for their conveyance. I've never seen it done though. If the passengers can't sit facing the street then they just stand around. Also, this model comes in a couple of varying styles, most like this one, some shorter, and some with an overhead rain enclosure, which I think I have fotos of. The boxlike unit at the upper left is a trash bin. Anyway, I liked the light and shadow play the scene offered so I snapped it before anyone sat on the bench. Avtio, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and laudatory comments.

It's like that so no-one can lie down on it, we have the same here in some places. Lovely lighting.

Nicely done Harry. I, too, like the play of shadow and light. I hope you are feeling better.

Actually, I think someone could lie on this if they were agile and skinny enough.

Yes the light does look great in this capture. These seats wouldn't encourage anyone to stay long with having no back on them, but then I guess that is there purpose.

They might not be comfortable, but they're lovely to photograph; love the lines and light. You got a great angle on it, Harry, excellent capture!

Obviously I'm going to have to make several visits to get a representative sampling of all you've done since I was gone, but at least I'm getting some. I loved this because you caught light on it like it were being graced from some off-the-frame god, like a wand from a folktale prince or princess; and it falls across the bench as on water. I love the curvature of the bench, and the angles you caught, making several angles cross & speak to each other. And the light in the top of the shot---coming from outside the shot---is so evocative, as is the dark golden hue of the shot & the blueish shadows. A fine silhouette, and worthy companion (as your benches are) to Denise's, and a nice slice of urban life at its most abandoned, with a glow coming through all the same...

They could if they were skinny and agile enough, but they sure wouldn't get up in a hurry. Beautiful capture! I love the light and the lines. I can't say it better than Mark has already done, but I agree 100% with his words.
