Description

The Ponce de Leon Hotel was an exclusive hotel in St. Augustine, Florida, built by millionaire developer, railroad magnate and Standard Oil co-founder Henry M. Flagler and completed in 1887. The Ponce de Leon Hotel was designed in the Spanish Renaissance style and was the first edifice, in the United States, to be constructed entirely of poured concrete (cement, sand and coquina shells). The hotel also was wired for electricity at the onset, with the power being supplied by DC generators supplied by Flagler's friend Thomas Edison. The building and grounds of the hotel became a part of Flagler College in 1968. This is the bell tower, in the corner of the main courtyard, of the old Ponce de Leon Hotel. I liked the sunset lighting. Info from Wikipedia. Best details in zoom. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana
