Description

Spotted these sprouting out of a building while on a photo walk a few weekends ago. They were about 10' up and on the alley side of the building, I'm assuming some sort of air vents although I could be totally off base on that. Thanks for looking and your comments : )

The five pointing upward make me think of periscopes used by the infantry in the trenches during World War I:) I think you've found something in the air vent line too. Very creative...stirs the imagination.

WOW! You're absolutely right in noting that it pays to look up...of course when I see PVC piping, I immediately think of Blue Man Group and so I wonder if these make that strange PVC pipe sound (also utilized by paleontologists to approximate the probable mating or territorial or warning calls of crested dinosaurs such as Parasaurolophus. **Why do I know this? And what does it have to do with this photo?) Of course, now that I see this, the part of me that always sees things in a skewed way is now beginning to wonder if the building you photographed makes use of air rushing through these pipes in order to produce its own mating calls or territorial signals...or imitations of Blue Man group PVC-induced music. One never knows. At any rate, this is a gorgeous and wholly modern photograph; it's the kind of shot I always enjoy seeing as it's such a pronounced (and elegant) glimpse at our own world. Wonderful curves and repetition. It's so perfectly seen and captured. I like this a lot. Aren't photo-walks fun?

What an original photograph. A bit mysterious. Maybe they are all camera's, which are hidden in it, and you stand on film now by taken this picture :)

Funny ... this made me think of a young guy walking with that exaggerated swagger some of them have. Do you know what I mean? Short step, long step, short step, long step, with their heads bobbing, and it makes them look like drunken sailors. I'm sure they're meaning to be cool, but I always worry about their uneven musculature. What a great shot!
