For someone who grew up in the appartheid era of our country, I found this bizarre. I should have looked at the road name!
Anyway, I really liked the ornate architecture.

My first thought when I saw this was that you had taken a break from your England shots to show us an odd cultural remnant from South Africa. Then I read your caption and the penny dropped. If I didn't know where you were from, I might not have had the same mental process ... but thanks for the brain tweak this morning! This is a wonderful image. I love the architecture. Great stuff from the early 1920s!
