Description
For the second year in a row, we have not gained entrance to the Lightner Museum, St. Augustine, Florida. Last year the grounds were open and the museum was not. This year, the complex was locked up, even though the lights were on. Not to leave empty handed, I like the locked gate enough to take this photo. Zoom helps a little.
Retrace the grandeur of the Gilded Age at The Lightner Museum, formerly the elegant Hotel Alcazar, built in 1887, in the Spanish Renaissance style, another of Henry M Flagler's finest hotels. The Lightner collection features three levels of elegant displays that showcase Victorian-era costumes, furnishings, musical instruments, art glass and other treasures harkening back to the high life of the 19th century. sounds like a park in Mesquite with old homes.I have been in a couple of times but it has never been opened yet after several years.they keep adding more stuff beautiful wrought iron work/capture

There is something to be said about a beautiful old gates like this one and the fantastic light-fitting to match, it's has nostalgia written all over it, IMO - I have bought an old one, renovated it and created now a beautiful entrance to our property of 3 acres! well done and I do hope you will finally get to see, what you came for Dana, BB
