Splendid photo and very beautiful point of view! L'edificio trecentesco subì gravi danni durante la seconda guerra mondiale e qualche sciagurato palazzinaro propose di abbattere ciò che rimaneva e costruire un edificio in stile moderno. Se avesse prevalso questa posizione oggi nella piazza di Treviso ci sarebbe un orrendo casermone degli anni cinquanta. Ma per fortuna alcuni storici dell'arte e architetti, in particolare il sovrintendente Ferdinando Forlati, si opposero e fu eseguito un restauro molto accurato, usando i materiali superstiti.
