Description

From all the towns along the Historic Route 66 in Arizona, Seligman seems to get the most mileage out of the nostalgia factor. The female mannequins in this picture seem to be that of a dance hall girls, but I am not familiar enough with the history of U.S. Route 66 to know whether this is historically correct. It doesn't seem to matter and it appears that these gimmicks are very popular with the tourists, mostly Europeans, that pass through this town on their way to the Havasupai Indian Reservation part of the Grand Canyon. This picture was taken on 8 October 2011, Sig...

Seligman certainly does go for the gusto! LOL! When we were there, the campground was mostly empty (because of the time of year). Most of the other occupants were German tourists in rented motorhomes.

Beautiful shot and I enjoyed my short ride along Rt 66. I wish that I had seen this place but then again, it was 1966.
