Description

This fish is hand carved from a single piece of Malachite. It's approximate height 28 centimeters, Qing dynasty 1644- 1911. Came across this is an old folder and thought of my friend Florin, hope the fishing has been good this year! ;~) This Malachite fish is inside of a glass case. The trak lighting on the ceiling caused reflections in many images taken that day. I've tried removing one from this image by using a clone stamp at first, with no success. Then tried a healing brush which did an adequate job. A good weekend to all! To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below. thumb_2260134.jpg

Whatever you did was successful, Dana. This is a beautiful image. I have a bust of a Mayan warrior made from malachite. My parents brought it back from Mexico many years ago. Its a wonderful stone.

I have a ring with this gemstone and it's always a pleasure to wear, such a sumptuous green - but I haven't seen anything as big as this sculpture in Malachite before, thanks for sharing such a beauty ! BB

Like your dad, amazing photography and a nice information about the photo. These are things we always look for when looking at a photo/gallery, it is quite helpful and educational too. That's why I enjoy looking at your gallery.
