Description
Another lifelike mannequin in the same Centro Commercial in Tenerife. It sports an interesting T-shirt: a hangman's noose made of a curtain rope printed on it. Diesel is an Italian brand from my region, Veneto. The owner, Rosso, a typical self-made man; his son attended the school where Flavia taught years ago. The guy on the left looks like a real lad. ;D
Thanks for your kind comments.

Wonderful work.

I'd be afraid to wear a T-shirt like that as it would appear to be an invitation for violence. :) Crazy, maybe I'm just getting old and forgot to realize it. Wonderful shot from the real world. Nicely done.

Fascinating subject! Love the details they achieved with this store model! Great photo too, Sandra! Love how you leave your imprinted style on all your work! Most superb!!!!

You can also purchase 'Diesel' here in OZ - no problemo! BTW methinks the other guy, on the far left is also a Dummy (mannequin) ;-) but who is the half person dressed in black ? (is that you Sandra?) love the saturated look! BB

This is a remarkable scene and so completely surreal in all of the most unexpected ways; the colors are astounding as are the textures. There's something so utterly contemporary in this shot; it's undeniable, but also hard to actually describe. I think it's in the mannequins: they look incredibly lifelike, incredibly realistic and they make me think of some trend as explored in some of the cyberpunk science fiction stories of the 1980s - early/mid 1990s in which characters in those stories were often described as having such jobs as serving as shop window installations: I wrote (and lost) a few stories in that vein myself, featuring "lifestyle models" paid to promote a way of living rather than a direct product: it was a kind of indirect product marketing: don't tell someone that they need or want a product, simply show them how that product makes them as cool as those guys and girls who get paid to live in store windows. It's an oddly creepy idea and this image reminds me of that, but in a wholly different way; I rather like that, and I love the manner in which you actually present a bit of ambiguity here. The shirt (and it's printed noose) along with the plastic people conveys a very interesting image with multiple interpretations that are quite fun to contemplate. This is brilliant work.

Great mannequin! I like the way the bluer tone of the cloths contrast with the red tones of the background. Excellent shot and postwork!
