My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

i would not walk on that poach. cool shot

This is a great picture but it kind of makes me sad to think that something once so vibrant is now so worthless. Someone built this and was so proud at the time, and now it is gone. But I still like the picture.

Where's Bob Vila when you need him??? :-D I just love dilapidated old buildings like this. Such wonderful textures, here, and B&W is perfect. Just delightful, Tara! I love to imagine what an old structure like this has 'seen' during its lifetime... If it could tell stories....

What stories those weathered old boards hold. Looks well built. Excellent capture. Black and white was a good choice.

A lot of history was here. Nice shot. Aloha

love it

Maybe a wrack and ruin but it sure makes a wonderful pic especially in B&W.

To me, it looks as though the porch has fallen from rot, but the main structure looks sound. Wish I could see inside, it might be an easy restoration back into usefulness. Great shot, and B&W is a natural!

Why was I expecting seaweed? especially when I know what you are up to so far inland! This has been such an attractive home. It makes me wonder what happened and why.

Sad to think that this was once someones pride and joy.

Even though it is only a ruin now, you made it look beautiful. :)

Once was someones pride and joy.. left to itself it goes to rack and ruin!

Maintenance can be a nightmare! Clive

Time changes everything...my bet is that the family that lived here passed on...and the farming/ranching business consolidated and grew rendering this old house no longer useful...seasons pass, snow and rain rots, freezing splits, trees fall. I like these old wrecks...love your composition and the choice of B&W.

Beautifully captured Tara. B&W give it character!

Oh boy, would I love to get my teeth into this and renovate it, or better yet bring it back to live ... With a place name like Oregon, it shouldn't be hard to find the matching wood to complete this task. But this is not about my renovating skills (?) or the lack of it - but about your eyes Tara, to spot this potential little gem and presenting it to us in it's raw and dilapidated state - which I love so much!
