one of the first big roland emmerich movies.excellent i read the book. utes father was an uboat man he never spoke about but the one can see that he had been traumatized in his youth on the u-boat.he was lucky enough to get caught by american troops in africa,in 1943 he spend the rest of the war in south or north carolina he was well treated and well fed and came home relatively soon.
