Description

Towards the end of summer this year I made a point of going after the 'classic' haybale image with some interesting and/or dramatic light. This photo was taken about 45 minutes after sunset, almost as an afterthought in the dark as I noticed the rain coming down again on the horizon. There's something about the twilight glow I love, and shooting in near darkness the longer exposure really helped bring out the subtle magic in the colours. While it may have been a bit annoying to have to continually wipe the lens free of spots of rain as I endured the occasional intermittent soaking it's always worth it when the light decides to show and you can come home with some images. and a beautiful result! I love the lighting in this, the bright pink in the horizon compliments the low colours of the hay and grass. Great shot, love this :)
