My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Oh, I absolutely adore the clever title of this piece; I simply saw the notice that you'd posted this and immediately, the title alone sent me into a nice episode of the giggles and then I opened the pic itself. WOW. Chicago offers quite a lot, but one misses quite a lot, living here...like waterfalls...like land that does something other than lay down, and water that doesn't freeze when it's cold. Funny. The lake making strange ice shapes is so totally normal to me that I can't imagine water not going all quasi-isotopic and becoming something else! Ah...geographically-induced perceptions: aren't they wonderful? As for this shot: it's quite amazing that water can fall down like that and not run out! How does it do that? OK...I know how it happens: it's like a river here in Chicago, deciding to take a trip downstairs. Okay, now that I've rambled. I'll say that this is a rockin' amazing shot and I love the view. I can virtually hear it, and smell the autumnalness of it all. I love the light and the postwork-banished shadow; it's still there, but it's behaving so nicely! This is great!

This is just incredible, Tara! What a delicious scene - I love the way you've framed this with the leaves in the foreground! And what an excellent job bringing the waterfall out of the shadows! Fantastic!
