Description
I know it's not quite Rememberance Day yet... But I wanted to take a sec to remember the saccrifices of many and to pay my respects to those lost past and present and possibly furture...
The HMS Hood was lost on May 24th, 1941 in her duel with the Bizmark... She suffered a direct hit which penetrated her aft magazines causing her to sink in less than 10 minutes... There were only 3 survivors of 1418 crewmen...
The Uss Arizona was sunk Dec 7th, 1941 during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour... A hit on her forward magazines by a converted armour-peircing shell blew her bow off and sank her to the mud... There were only 223 survivors of a 1400 man crew...
For their nations, both ships became rallying points... A small consolation for the ones left behind...
Though it's early... my respects for all those in the line of fire every where...

Ty neiwil and steelrazor... i honestly wish more people would take a little time to say ty to the ones that fight for us so that we don't have to... and the ones that died keeping us safe...

Your models and textures look absolutely fantastic. Your sentiments are shared. The boats get on all the posters, but its the people who really made them something to remember.

what gets scary is when you think of it in terms of a town... the small town i grew up in up north here in canada only had 1000 residents... 1400 died on the Hood... every time a ship this size went down a whole small town ceased to exist!

Beautiful Ships and I'm thankful every time I see someone post a remembrance of my fellow veterans no matter what country they are from. During WWII I had family on both sides of the conflict, my mother was German and her uncle was in UBoats, my grandfather on my dad's side fought in Italy as US army infantryman. I too will be posting a render or two for Veterans Day/Rememberance Day.

My father picked cotton for bomber jackets in ww2... and my mom was born the year that Pearl Harbour got attacked... we had neighbours that had moved here in the 50's that had lived in London during the blitz... and i had the great luck to work with many veterans while i was aiding in weapons and vehicle identification for a military museum in my home town...
