Description

This demonstrates how the fishing boats are hauled up the pebble beach. The man in the boat keeps the motor running to keep the boat forward, the other chap attaches the cable while the third is giving him some slack, the other man is an interested looker on. The boat will be pulled up the beach on wooden poles to protect the hull.

...used to have a fourteen foot runabout...very glad I had a mooring unaffected by the tide. I find what these fishermen do to be fascinating.

I'm with Bill - a fascinating process. Is it like a co-op where thay all help each other or do they have to pay a fee each time they use the service? Like all the seaweed on the beach.

A very interesting tidbit of information, and a lovely image to accompany the explanation! I think the texture of the beach is really something! The symmetry in your composition is also very well displayed. What an excellent mood and atmosphere in spite of the seemingly cool and overcast weather. Excellent portrayal of waht is going on here!

And to think in its basics this method will have been unchanged on this beach for hundreds and hundreds of years. Very nice shot Jeff!
