Description

A photograph is neither taken nor seized by force.  It offers itself up. It is the photo that takes you.  One must not take photos. —Henri Cartier-Bresson
Where do we go when there's somewhere to run ..   But the time isn't right ,, and there's things to be done? We're trapped half-way up ... yet don't want to go back ..   So we keep going on .. compromising the lack. We see the green fields as we travel on by ..   As we recall all the things we've forgotten to try. We wish we were young .. and we wish we were old ..   For the song's always sung .. and the story's been told. We thought we were different .. but what did it mean?..   We tricked ourselves trying .. life's still unseen. As it is .. as it was .. as it always will be;   Will we find out at all what it is to be free? It is here I see pictures .. and my madness is clear ..   Where there's no longer logic .. and therefore no fear. I'm often near dead with uncontrollable light ..   Sometimes when I've written a poem .. it's alright.
A test result, posted for anyone who might be curious, from the development of a new photo effect process I've been crafting up in Photoshop. I have always pursued a particular form of expression with 3D renders: photorealistic portraits.  This creative style is not everyone's taste.  If you are interested in the method behind anything you see me showing out here .. do not hesitate to ask me about how something is accomplished. Last autumn, right about this time, I invested a good deal of time in developing a set of tools for those folks who want to expand their post-work skills.  The personal disaters of the past year left those tools unfisnished.  If time allows and there is some interest, I would return to the workshop and make those tools freely available. Oh!... That's my dear Shiloh, by the way.  She's been very patient with me through this whole process .. she deserves a little credit.   ;-) May you be enjoying an inspired and productive weekend! With warmth, Terry

This is really good Terry. I've been following you, quietly for a while again now, seeing where you were going, not wanting to step into the pond and send out any ripples. But now I have to step up and say this is a particularly stellar work. I love the intense graininess of it and of course the vibrancy, you know me and vibrancy. It's why I prefer to work in Grayscale for my photos because it stops me from tweaking their vibrancy into a state of unreality. But here, it is right, it is warm and it feels real. Well done my friend.

This places between reality and sketching in the sense that it gives to me. Very interesting effect.
