Description
I know you can barely see him, my crappy camera again, but this is what I've been playing with for about the last hour.
He wasn't aggressive at all & finally let me pick him up, with a stick, of course, I'm fearless, not stupid. Got him into a bucket & over the fence where he sidled into the spanish sword. (Huge Yucca)
I couldn't leave him out there with my dogs.
He is a young snake & they are much worse than adults about not being able to control their venom. My dogs are very important, so I had to get him out before sundown.
At least living in the desert is never boring.

We live in the city (sort of), and we've had some puff adders in our garden. The biggest one we had removed by the "snake man", the others I've managed to shepherd into a bucket to drop off in the wetlands down the road.

I'm afraid I wouldn't have shown such restraint. The non-poisonous ones don't bother me, but this guy would have to go. With two dogs and seven grandchildren....well, I wouldn't show mercy. On the other hand, I have five deer which frequent my yard during hunting season...a safe haven for them. There's one mother with twin fawns....so adorable. I just let them eat what they want, since they pay for everything in entertainment value, and the plants are going to die anyway in the winter.
