Description

I was at the Coushatta Indian festival today. if you get a change to go to a pow wow with dance contests go then. it was wonderful . too bad my sister went as we left early. They did not put on the spot lights but was going to at night. we left just before that happen. ol well maybe next year. This is the first time I been to a pow wow and i wish to show you what will be coming up after i do the renaissance festival. Whaleman is doing some wonderful images with a model he used with a large cloth. he say he going to get differ colors next time. here some with two dancers here. They had five dancers at one time but this image stands out the most with this type of dance. forgot what type lol. I will keep on the renaissance festival as i got 2600 images to go thought lol that be some time. i do not do fix all of them be i need to look at all of them check out whaleman gallery these are some women dancers here. they are trying to win first place in they style and class of danceing Coushatta Indian festival is giveing away $100,000 in prizes the prizes is divided over many types and styles of dances. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNj6KNipuKg here is a link to my video of some women dancers in this style. lighting in here was bad. very bad. i had it on ISO 3200 and still have to use a low speed shudder to take photos. i did lighting up the image in photoshop on top of that.

these guys can dance... surprised we don't see more of this type of dance incorporated into dancing with the stars - who knows, maybe they tried it, got hurt and didn't want to change the name to dancing with the scars - lol

Thanks for the heads-up Jocko! They are very nice colors and quite bright. I did already buy three more fabrics for the next shoot (after winter passes). They are green, dark blue with a bit of purple, and dark navy with some extra threads. I have had lots of photo-ops of native dancing here and it is interesting to see the differences in the costumes. The Cree and other bands here have very different dress. I also went into an East Indian fabric shop and found some amazing fabrics there but they were just a bit too much for me. I'm pretending to exercise a little restraint, ha ha!
