A great example of some interesting building techniques: The sod-buster type of sod roof, which is excellent at keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Triangular logs can make very efficient use of a smaller tree; the notches running along their length ensure draft-free insides with no rain or snow penetrating. It is not used for the roof as that would lead to trapped water and rot, instead reliance is on a slope to ensure most rain runs off.

They are unique and an interesting grass roofed interlocking hut. Well worth the zoom.
