Wonderful capture! I spent 3 days in Bath a few years back, but somehow managed NOT to see the baths themselves :( Oh well, another trip, I guess!

Wonderful shot Clive, several years back they cleaned the pool out and found many coins and artifacts in the sludge.

I saw a program about this place, and it seems to me that I recall the water level used to be higher. Those marks on the columns that look like high water marks ARE high water marks! Unfortunately, that's all my feeble brain retained. I'm sure the whole truth is much more fascinating.

This is the level that I have always seen when I've been. They give it a quarterly cleanup up with high pressure sprays so that could account for the high water marks. They have found everything from the coins Jayfar mentioned to traffic cones and mopeds! The green in the water is natural algae caused by direct sunlight. imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com
