It kind of reminds me of net fishing for opelu (Hawaiian Name). They would take a long net with one end open similar to this. Lower the net down deep and chum right above the net. As the opelu would eat the chum, the fisherman would raise the net. "Opelu Fishing" . Interesting capture. Aloha
