Description

Headaches and late nights/early mornings were the fuel that went into creating this image. I was actually in a mood not much different from the lil girl here while I was working on her, which was what both prompted and inspired the poem that she shares. I really, really wanted an image that was simple, yet touched on many different elements, but because I'm wont to create complicated images I ended up redoing this one several times to try and achieve that effect. I probably would've worked on this image a week longer if I'd had the time -- but as it was I was rendering nearly up until the last minute. If there is anything in the image that I didn't put in the following list, please let me know! Thanks!! Software: Poser Pro 2012, Photoshop. Products: Amy (Little Girl) -- Kids 4, (Nyx, Undead for Steph Petite, Paulette, all converted to K4 as needed using Universal Texture Converter 2 and added to different elements of sub-surface scattering nodes), Violet Hair, Kissin'Cheeks for K4, Catarina (partial dress material base), Sweetheart for Kids 4, Ron's Rips and Tears Brushes, Hadara Hair (bracelets), V4 Creature Morphs (zombie/body, ocular/head), V4 Skeleton (Crossdresser'd to Kids 4), Redhouse Christmas Carol (teddybear), A3 Bunny Girl (tail for teddybear brains/fluff). Scene -- Modualz Floral Swing (all boards, lasso'd away using the grouping tool), P3DA Smugger's Keep (swing ropes), LB: Autumn Excursion (ground), LB: Raven's Rest (flowers), Indian Grass (Living Darkness Extravaganza), Millennium Puppy Bundle, 3 Raven Court (fence), DNA JackOLantern, Heart of the Matter (original, tree), Jepes Flamez, Rubble, Medieval Tavern (fire background), Le Village (roadside, stop sign), Render Studio lights, and many magnets. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I still can't believe this placed, much less won the Zombie Apocalypse! In all the years that I've entered R'osity contests, I've NEVER won one like this! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Description: Software: Poser Pro 2012, Photoshop CS5. Inspiration: For this, I wanted to try something off the wall, something that people don't usually think of or associate with a zombie apocalypse: Children. So, I started to think, what would a child zombie be like? A regular, ravening zombie? Or another creature entirely? What would it like to be a zombie child for all eternity? Time: It took me a ton of planning and then about two weeks of early mornings and late nights to pull this image together. Description: Prayer for an Innocent Soul No one to dress up with me, No one to play, No one to bake pumpkin pies with me all day. No candy to find, No apples to eat, Not a single door offering tricks or treats. Just the wind in my hair, A thirst burning inside, Never to sleep, no matter how hard that I try. Where do the children go, When the zombie apocalypse comes? What paths do we wander, away from the sun? No madness, no hatred, Consumes an innocent soul, Doomed forever to roam, lost and alone. When hither becomes yon, And time has no meaning, What solace can I find in this land beyond breathing? Happy Halloween to me...

Well I say you deserve to win for the poem alone, let along this masterpiece. It is the best of art when you introduce a worn theme from a new perspective. That is what you did and that is probably why you won.

A most endearing and yet chilling image I seldom see. In fact I can look out my window and see the echinacea puporia just like in your image. Lots of grand details and work that sets a "just so" type finale here. Beautifully done.

So very poignant both words and art. Sad and horrific at the same time, and can definitely see the care and planning that went into this one. Utmost praise for this masterpiece!
