Description

sub: and the farmer he ploughed on... (wellknown line from a (relatively unknown) poem, called 'the Ballad of the Farmer' about a farmer that carried on ploughing/plowing no matter what... despite the fall of Troy, the cruxifiction on Golgatha, Napoleon on the Alps & St. Helena, ..... (I think he was a bit of a ....... -you-name-it! ;-)- cuz they burned down his farm, murdered his wife & ox... yet the farmer ploughed on... and so many quit, but the lark sang the same (old) song, and the farmer he ploughed on... (till he heard his name called) ends like 'and a voice spoke to earth, heaven and sea, which the farmer has heard "because of the farmer that ploughs, the world will sustain" ' duh, that sounded horrible! LOL (because of me of course ;-)) but in dutch it's kind of nice http://www.webspawner.com/users/claessens/balladevandeboer.html J.W.F. Werumeus Buning (1891-1958) -dedicated to all of his ancestors) TYallSM for your wonderful comments (&fav.s) on previous pics!!! :-D

Superb shot indeed. These wonderful horses reminds mee of my happy childhood, when the Huge brewery horses passed the streets in Copenhagen. I can still hear them and smell them. Awesome.

That poem is great! I get the message, wish I was clever enough to read it in Dutch! Such a superb photo, Ine!

The land preparation... one of the most (perhaps the most IMHO) noble human work!
