UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

This is very clean. I don't see any lint at all. Usually you have to use that skinny attachment thingie to get under the mountains: dust bunnies love to accumulate there, but since I don't see any mountains, it doesn't look as if they had to have their edges raised up with the cleaning lady getting down on her knees and rattling the vacuum nozzle around down there, making a horrible racket as cleaning ladies do, you know. And now that I've gotten that silliness out of my system, I'll have to say that this is a brilliant photo. When you and Tara were here in Chicago I'd decided to focus on "space" for a bit. That went out the window once I got a load of all of those windows with all sorts of cool things in them, and then there were those ceilings! Needless to say, I got only one "space" shot and it was still enclosed and nothing like this brilliantly gorgeous piece of work. This has a nice feel to it, very spare, a bit like something Japanese. That really appeals to me. This is brilliantly seen and captured, especially the leftward curve in the road. It's quite cinematic if you ask me. I like cinematic shots. This is quite cool.

Excellent image Hugs Susan

Simply plain Jane! - but still very intriguing, wondering what's around the next and then the next bend ? probably more of this! Only in America ;) you caught the real essence of the touring moment, Bill BB

That is bare and barren Bill what a boring landscape to drive through I think i would fall asleep with miles of that lol..

It's always nice when the cleaning crews are out ahead of you mopping up all the dirt and loose debris. I really don't like to get my tires dirty. Great vista! I find wheat fields have some similarities to the ocean, vast, wavy and devoid of objects. That is why young farm boys made such good sailors.

Wonderfully clean and this lovely picture also 'draws' you in.

you never see roads that clear here...

This is just as good as Photoshop's motion blur. ;) I guess it's the analog version..........ie actually moving!

What is Chip on! I want some! A super abstract, Bill, but I should be depressed by the lack of trees in 10 minutes!

I see you made good use of your time while I drove that day! What a great landscape through which to drive. Beautiful sunny day, nobody around for miles ... my kind of driving! This is outstanding. The composition and perspective sucked me in the minute I saw it. It surprised me, how much I enjoyed that part of Washington. It had been years since I'd been there. I've always agreed with my friend who says "Eastern Washington is THE biggest waste of daylight hours," but it was fun going through there with you and seeing the stark, empty, rolling landscape. This has such a wonderful sense of space, and you really do have to love the vacuum cleaner marks in that field. :P Nicely done!

OH now I see a picture of a person with a dustcleaner using ages to go through this endless road :) Awesome shot.

Enjoy empty spaces like this. I'll usually find myself standing on that double yellow line taking a shot or two just because you can! :~)

Must have been a Texan with a Texas size vacuum cleaner! :) A very nice shot showing the flat vastness and plentyousness. Food for a whole world considering what's growing there. Despite my having flown and taken the train across the US many times, I'm still amazed at the vastness of the farmlands in the country. At the plentyousness. A truely God blessed land. This photo really bears this out. Beautiful. But also very isolated and lonely. The solitude makes for reflection.

The image is so pristine and perfect that it looks like a painting, Bill. No reflections nor irregularities. Utterly fabulous if photographed through the windshield.
