Description
Mars and Minerva feature on the cap badge of the Artist Rifles , a Victorian Regiment based in London comprising of poets , artists and writers . Mars being the Roman God of war and Minerva the Goddess of wisdom . During World War 1 the Artists produced more officers than any other military establishment . In one day 50 men were commissioned from the ranks . This memorimal issituated at the entrance to the Royal Academy in London
