L’armistice, signé le 11 novembre 1918, à 5 h 152,3, marque la fin des combats de la Première Guerre mondiale (1914-1918), la victoire des Alliés et la capitulation de l'Allemagne. Le cessez-le-feu est effectif à onze heures3, entraînant dans l'ensemble de la France des volées de cloches et des sonneries de clairons annonçant la fin d'une guerre qui a fait plus de 18 millions de morts et des millions d'invalides ou de mutilés. Les généraux allemands et alliés se réunissent dans un wagon-restaurant aménagé du maréchal Foch, dans la clairière de Rethondes, en forêt de Compiègne. Plus tard en 1919, à Versailles, ils signeront le traité de Versailles.
The armistice, signed on 11 November 1918, at 5 am 152.3, marks the end of fighting in the First World War (1914-1918), the Allied victory and the surrender of Germany. The cease-fire is effective at eleven hours3, resulting in all of France peals of bells and the bugle call announces the end of a war that killed more than 18 million deaths and millions of disabled or maimed. The German generals and allies meet in a diner built of Marshal Foch, in the clearing of Rethondes in the forest of Compiegne. Later in 1919, at Versailles, they will sign the Treaty of Versailles.

Très bien de nous rappeler cette horrible période, Claude. Hélas ... l'histoire nous démontre que 'NOUS' n'avons absolument RIEN appris et que ces millions de victimes des deux côtés ont laissé leur vie pour rien. Beau jeu de spirales et l'image est trés nette.
