Well done Jeff. The inside of a foxhole I presume. We'll be off soon for a free lunch (for me)...at one of our favorite restaurants which honors all veterans this way each year. A nice little reminder.

Simple but very powerful Jeff. The red poppies are still important over here - for the WWI & WWII vets.

"And did you leave a wife or a sweetheart behind In some loyal heart is your memory enshrined? And, though you died back in 1916, To that loyal heart are you forever 19? Or are you a stranger without even a name, Forever enshrined behind some glass pane, In an old photograph, torn and tattered and stained, And fading to yellow in a brown leather frame?" (Eric Bogle) When I see old postcard photographs without any name, stuffed with miscellaneous images at a flea market, I wonder about the solemn face looking back at me, and I remember those lines. Beautiful image and tribute.
