Description

MB3D In Canada November 11th is set aside every year as Rememberance Day. It is a time to remember the sacrifice of so many soldiers, sailors and airmen (and women) over the years. I as a 17 year veteran of military service have absolutly no use for war. But I do Think it is terribly important to pay respect to the fallen and their families. Unfortunatly there are people recently saying celebrations such as Rememberance Day glorifies war, so such things should be forgotten. Very few things in life are able to cause me anger to the point that this statement can. Remembering those that sacrificed so much so the rest of us can live freely is a very small price to pay. When enough of these apathetic (and pathetic) youngsters end up the ones incharge of our countries it will be a very scarey time to be alive. The surrest way to repeat your past mistakes is to forget what has been done before you. Rememberance day is celebrated on November 11th because it was at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 that the armistise was signed. This ended the First world war. (The war to end all wars). So it has significance especially today where on 11-11-11 at 11am there will be a 2 minute silence observed all accross the country. Jim Any one who wishes this parameter please just ask me, due to the sensitivity of the text content here I prefered not to post it and take away from the message.

We call it Veterans Day here in the U.S. As a former Soldier and VietNam Vet I mirror your sentiments, at noon today a couple hundred of my Brothers and myself in Rolling Thunder will form at the Main Gate of Ft. Bliss and parade through the Post to Ft. Bliss Cemetry and lay a wreath at the memorial for the Unknown and Salute the Known, then across to Old Biggs Army Airfield for a celebration in Honor of those currently Serving...then I gotta go find a Gift for my Daughters 35th Birthday tomorrow, busy day Peace

our remembrance day in luxembourg is in june since 1954 we honor with a special day the liberation of the grand duchy by general George S.Patton jr.the best one there was.he kicked ass and he was not a mouthfarter he got things done. one of his brightes deeds was when he turned a whole army in the battle of the bulge to kick nazi ass.

The act of killing another human being denounced us from being called civilised society. We will never learn from histories until come a war to end all wars.
