Description

When in excile (Napoleon was here) the Prince of Orange was a student at Oxfort.. In 1844.. as King Willem II he had this street created in Den Haag in the Oxfort style.. It is the only Enlgish road in the Netherlands.. and beautiful The little bridge is over the Haragha (or simply "de Beek" (the stream")) The Haragha is what Tiber is for Rome, Seine is for Paris, Amsel is for Amsterdam and Theems is for London.. grin.. but a littttttle bit smaller scale.. ha ha What a river is for other cities in the world was the Forest (of The Hague) for The Hague. No big rivers in our nabourhood.. All waters in Den Haag (including the Haragha) are man made (except for a extremely small river way outside the old center called Laak, but that is absolute small scale)
